A must re-visit of a few classic movies!
We have all grown up watching movies and a few of those have stuck to us. We even now go back to watch those classic movies at times. However, now there is a difference. The kind of movies that we watched as kids and that seemed like one of the best movies might not leave the same effect on us now when and if we watch it as adults. Over time we have evolved and so has our brains. A few things that was portrayed in those movies did not really seem problematic to us or even debatable as kids but now, they story has changed. A few days back I went back to watching Dil Se because it was undoubtedly one of the best movies that I had ever watched. Or at least that’s what I had thought. And not to my surprise, it is not something that I would watch again. And I wonder why people call it a “classic movie”. The songs are nice though. I will give that to them. There are many such examples of movies that you might want to revisit just to see if you continue to share the same opinion about it as you did a few years back maybe.
Hum Saath Saath Hai- This might be one of those movies that every one of us have watched and have thought that such a family is like a dream. Actually, now that I think of it, this entire movie was nothing but a cringe fest. Starting from the whole over the top happy family scenes, to uncles sitting around the table and clapping at the fact that the women and daughters of the house cooks for them and how that defines a “happy” family to literally going on to introduce every cast of the movie.
Hum Aapke Hai Kaun- This movie is another such example. I mean the future of two people who loved each other depended on how well the dog understand the situation and on his timings. I don’t think I need to say anything beyond that.
Mein Prem Ki Deewani Hoon- I mean Hrithik Roshan was on another level of proving what over-acting is. That in no way should be on the list of anyone’s must watch. Also, the CGI parrot and the dog. Actually, the parrot and the dog were most probably the best things of the movie.
The list can actually go on however these three top my list.
