A tablet serves different purpose to different people. For some it may just be a mode of entertainment for watching movies or even playing games, while for others, it might serve as a constant workstation. It is perceived differently by different people; therefore, one can never single out a reason for use of a tablet. There are many. The Fire 8 Tab was originally launched in September 2018, and it did quite well in the markets even then. The new one however has certain tweaks made to the same in the recent times. Amazon updated the Fire 8 Tab, with some significant changes. I think Amazon too realized that it has been years since the last upgrade, so the affordable tablet sees a good refresh. The update flaunts some incremental tweaks.

Let’s look at the details of the same in some detail. The original Fire 8 Tab has gotten a boost almost about everywhere. Rather than the 1.3GHz quad-core processor that was there originally, it has now got a 2.0GHz chip. The new processor is 30% faster than the original one. Amazon also worked on boosting up the RAM as well. It pushed the table to 2GB up from the 1.5GB, which is always good news. Who doesn’t wish to own a fast and speedy gadget? Lastly, one of the major incremental change that Amazon has brought about with the Fire 8 Tablet would be bringing in storage variant models. Internal storage is doubling, with models available in 32GB and 64GB. To make it even better than this, the device now also supports a microSD card to help expand the storage up to 1TB. The tablet also uses a USB-C for faster charging. It couldn’t have gotten better than this for the price point that it’s being offered at.

The other details about the tablet include; an 8-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at a pixel density of 189 pixels per inch (ppi). The price of this particular Amazon tablet in India is capped at Rs.3370. Considering the price, and specs of the same, it is safe to say that Amazon has done a good job with its latest product. Amazon has made sure to offer the best of features in the tablet to make it worth every penny spent by the user on the purchase of it.
