Brahmastra: Netizen’s Reactions
One of the most highly advanced Bollywood films of the year, Brahmastra, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy was released on September 9. Although the film features Bollywood big stars, it fell short of fulfilling the netizen’s expectations amid a spate of unfavorable reviews and information about empty theatres.
Brahmastra is declared to be the most costly movie in the Hindi cinema with a galore of visual outcomes and it has now fallen to impress the internet. Amid visuals of unclogged theatres running Brahmastra going viral, people joked that it was ‘scary’ to watch the film with no one inside the theatre. “It’s scary to watch this movie (Brahmastra) in an empty theatre,” a Twitter user wrote while calling the Ranbir Kapoor film an “epic disappointment”.
Some of the Twitter users also said that there is no story in the film and characters are ‘imposed’. Others called the film “a laser show film, in the name of VFX”.
Further, the movie critic Taran Adarsh also published a review on Twitter saying that the movie was particularly disappointing with “low content and no soul.” He gave the movie 2 stars while stating the movie ignored an option to be a game changer.
Making the Karan Johar-produced Brahmastra supplementary special is the fact that the movie has cameos by none other than Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. In the run-up to its release, the movie Brahmastra was assembling headlines each day, and with the leading expectation for the movie, theatres aided considerably. In fact, during the week before the release of the movie, both PVR Cinemas and INOX Leisure noticed a growth of 2–4% in their stake prices. Nevertheless, now we listen to that post the release of Brahmastra both stocks have seen a drop.
