Delhi’s New Chief Secretary: IAS Naresh Kumar
On the day of April 21 1987-batch Senior IAS officer, Naresh Kumar took charge as the Delhi Chief Secretary and got down to operate meeting the officials and keeping stock of programmes and projects, and also challenges involving the COVID-19 situation faced by the capital.
The officer, Kumar will have a unit of new officers in the govt. as the Home Ministry transferred over 30 IAS officers from the Delhi govt. involves some principal secretaries of departments like Finance, Health, Power and PWD.
Kumar has taken the place of his batchmate Vijay Dev, who has retired from the post.
In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, Naresh Kumar was previously serving as the chief secretary of Arunachal Pradesh.
Let me tell you that IAS Naresh Kumar had earlier functioned in Delhi as chairman of the (NDMC) New Delhi Municipal Council and managing director of the (DTC) Delhi Transport Corporation.
About His Journey- Naresh Kumar was born on the day of 18th November 1963. He belongs to the capital Delhi. And, got selected for the UPSC Civil Services at the tender age of 23. His joining was on 24th August 1987.
IAS Naresh is a Mechanical Engineer who has graduated with 1st division. He completed his Master’s Degree in Business Administration and also finished a certification from Duke University in the course Management.
IAS Kumar has had a remarkable career graph and has been currently appointed as the Chief Secretary of New Delhi.
