Inauguration of the B R Ambedkar School of Economics
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has inaugurated the pristine campus of Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) University in Bangalore and also revealed a statue of the architect of the Indian Constitution installed at the campus.
On the occasion, he also disclosed 150 Technology Hubs’ that have been invented by altering the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state of Karnataka.
Produced at a cost of over Rs 4,700 crore, the Technology Hubs endeavour is reinforced by multiple Industry partners, and it aims to make a skilled force to manage Industry 4.0 manpower requirements. Let me tell you that these Technology Hubs, through their diverse innovative courses, will furnish a high-skill apprenticeship in cutting-edge technology and enhance possibilities for ITI graduates in career and entrepreneurship.
Out of the entire cost, the state government has contributed Rs 657 crore, on the other hand, Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) and its partners contributed Rs 4,080 crore. The state has likewise spent an extra Rs 220 crore to construct dedicated workshops and technology labs at these 150 ITIs.
Coming back to the event, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, and various Ministers of the state cabinet were among those attending.
The residential BASE University was placed up in the year 2017 in honour of the outstanding contributions assembled by Ambedkar in the action of Independent India and as a hymn to his memory on the event of his 125th birth anniversary.
