Chinese smartphone maker company Honor has launched yet another smartphone under its company name. The Honor 8A Prime is one of the latest smartphones to be launched and hit the market shelves. Before forming an opinion about it, it is important to know the device thoroughly. And I’m here to help you do just that. Allow me to shed some light on the specifications and features of the smartphone to make the process of understanding the basics of this smartphone a whole lot easier for you and thereafter you are free to make your judgments. Honor launched its latest smartphone just a few days ago, on the 31st of March, 2020, to be precise. The device is seen sporting a 6.09-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720x1560 pixels at a pixel density of 283 pixels per inch (PPI). It flaunts an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. The smartphone also comes with a water-drop notch design.

The brand has launched the Honor 8A Prime with a price tag of around Rs. 9,600. What makes this smartphone a lot more desirable, than it already is, is its processor under the hood. Honor 8A Prime is powered by 1.8GHZ octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) processor featuring 4 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.8GHz along with 3GB of RAM. The MediaTek Helio P35 is an octa-core chipset that is built on TSMC’S advanced 12nm FinFET node. This enables a faster performance and a longer battery life which basically are two of the most important aspects of a good smartphone these days. MediaTek’s Helio P35 chipset supports LPDDR3 and LPDDR4x RAM (4GB and 6GB). It also supports dual 13MP cameras or a single 25MP camera along with a hardware depth engine for professional-level bokeh images, Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) and Electronic Image Stabilization. The smartphone also offers preloaded GMS (Google Mobile Services). The Honor 8A Prime runs Android 9.0 Pie and is powered by 3020mAh non-removable battery.

The Honor 8A Prime runs EMUI 9.0 that is based on Android 9.0 Pie. Along with that, it packs 64GB of inbuilt storage that can be further expanded up to 512GB with a dedicated slot via a MicroSD card. Therefore, storage is not an issue at all. The Honor 8A Prime is a dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. Coming to the optics of the smartphone, the Honor 8A Prime flaunts a 13-megapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture on the rear. It also has a phase detection autofocus. It sports an 8-megapixel camera on the front placed under the water-drop notch for those amazing selfies and video calls, with an f/2.0 aperture. Moving forward to the Connectivity options on the Honor 8A Prime, it comes along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetoothv4.20, Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack, 3G and 4G with active 4G on both the SIM cards. Sensors on the Honor 8A Prime include accelerometer, proximity sensor, fingerprint sensor, and ambient light sensor. The Honor 8A Play measures up to 156.28(height) x 73.50(width) x 8.00mm(thickness) and weighs a mere150.00 grams.

This smartphone is available in three color variants: Midnight Black, Emerald Green color and Blue.
