Lt General Manoj Pande to Be The Next Indian Army Chief

Latest in the news, Lt Gen Manoj Pande has been designated as the 29th Chief of Army Staff for the Indian Armed forces and will take over from the day of April 30.

According to the Army, he was a part of Operation Parakram, the year 2001–02 India-Pakistan standoff in the wake of the attack on Parliament. The standoff saw the thousands of troops on each side of the border along with the Line of Control in J&K.

Talking more about him, Pandey is a graduate of Staff College, Camberley (UK), and also attended the (HC) Higher Command and (NDC) National Defence College courses.

In his 39 years of service, he has held significant and challenging command and staff appointments in various operational environments which involve command of an engineers brigade in the western theatre, also as part of a strike corps, further an infantry brigade along with the LoC in J&K, a mountain division in the high altitude area of western Ladakh and command of a corps, deployed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and in the counter-insurgency operations area of Eastern Command. He has done several works for our country!

In addition, he was the Commander-in-Chief, Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN), from the duration of June 2020 to May 2021, and also the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command from the span of June 2021 to January 2022

The appointment of the latest Lt General Manoj C Pande as the Chief of Army Staff has brought a happy coincidence to the Indian armed forces. With his elevation, all 3 of the chiefs of the Indian armed forces will be now from the same NDA batch.

These 3 service chiefs will be from batch 61st of the (NDA) National Defense Academy at Khadakwasla.
