Nikhat Zareen wins Gold in Boxing!

India won another gold medal in boxing at Commonwealth Games 2022 with the very talented Nikhat Zareen of India perforating down Carly MC Naul of Northern Ireland to win the gold medal for the country. This win fetched India its 17th gold and 48th prevailing medal of the Games.

Both boxers took a while to drop in during the 1st round but even then, Nikhat was just ahead to win it 5–0. A dependable left hook coupled with another set of decisive punches connected well. MC Naul could not do much and that was praise Nikhat and her series of fierce attacks. MC Naul started aggressively in the 2nd round with both exchanging a lot more punches, but with 50 seconds to go, it was apparent that Nikhat was on top, tiring out her opposition. Nikhat allowed MC Naul to go after her but she counterstruck with ease.
Aware of the fact that she was ahead after the first 2 rounds, Nikhat took her time and as the last bell rang, she extended her hands in victory.
