OnePlus have been a part of the Smart TV segment for a while now. It had last year launched two premium smart TVs, OnePlus TV Q1 and OnePlus TV Q1 Pro. The Q1 series was the company’s premium offerings, starting at Rs.69,900. However, last year the pricing of the TVs brought in only a section of consumers as it was beyond the level of affordability for many. Therefore, to expand their consumer base, the company instead of another flagship TVs, have come up with more affordable mid-range priced TVs this year. The company has fared extremely well in terms of offering affordable TVs with all the right boxes checked for a powerful and affordable device.

OnePlus in a quote said, “The TVs are a step towards a future of inter-connectivity, with seamless integration into a home network and will deliver a premium experience across different screen sizes and price points.”

OnePlus has launched three new TV models in India under 2 series. There is the Y series with two models measuring 32-inch and 43-inch priced at Rs.12,999 and Rs.22,999 respectively while the price of the top-end U1 model with 55-inch 4K panel is capped at Rs.49,999, and we shall specifically look into the features and specifications of the U series in details.

OnePlus U1 series 55-inch features and specifications:

55-inch (3840 x 2160) 4K LED panel with 93% DCI-P3 color gamut, Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG.

Gamma Engine with MEMC, Super Resolution, Noise Reduction, Color Space Mapping, Dynamic Contrast, Anti-Alasing, Ai-PQ

Android TV 9.0 with OxygenPlay

Google Assistant built in

30W speaker (4 units, 2x high frequency and 2 x full frequency) DTS-HD DOLBY ATMOS, DOLBY DIGITAL PLSU

The OnePlus TV 55 U1 has a thickness of 6.9mm at the sides, a screen-to-body ratio of 95%, and access to Oxygen Play and the OnePlus Connect app for easier connectivity with a smartphone, which makes the user experience so much smoother and easier. The remote gives access to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video through short keys and can also be used to seamlessly communicate with Google Assistant.

As far as the features of the TV is concerned, and the price tag on it, it is quite fair and offers many things that makes it worth every penny. The price point may seem a little high to some, but it is imperative to remember the feature points that is being offered and with respect to that, everything with this TV is just right.
