Oppo is a well-known brand in the smartphone industry and it needs no introduction. The brand announced its latest entry-level smartphone on April 21st and after a few leaks the phone has finally been launched in India. The smartphone originally debuted in the Indonesian market back in April. As of 9th June, the Oppo A12 starts at Rs.9,990 in India and can be bought online and offline. The Oppo A12 is available to buy across offline stores and e-commerce platforms, including Amazon.in and Flipkart, starting June 10.
The Oppo A12 flaunts a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels, a screen-to-body ratio of 89%, 1500:1 contrast ratio, 450 Nits peak brightness output, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection with an aspect ratio of 19:9.
The device is powered by MediaTek Helio P35 SoC teamed up with GE8320 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space along with the option of expanding the storage capacity up to 256GB via a microSD card. With MediaTek Helio P35 SoC’s flexible LPDDR3/LPDDR4x memory controller, device manufacturers can easily meet the market needs while balancing price and the performance of the device.
The smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS 6.1 out-of-the-box. The smartphone comes with a 4230mAh battery powering it. This is a slight setback with respect to the size of the battery. It could have been a little bigger.
The phone flaunts a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12um-micron and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for depth sensing at the rear. While there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12um-micron for those amazing selfies and video calls. A few other features include Portrait mode, 6x digital zoom, FHD 1080p video recording, AR stickers and many more. MediaTek P35 captures rich details and exciting effects in both photography and video.
Connectivity features included in the Oppo A12 are 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.00, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks that are used in India) with active 4G on both SIM cards, GPS, Glonass and Beidu. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor along with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor. There are two color variants available; Blue and Black.
