Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G vs Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G: Which one’s better?

With the current trend of 5G, almost all the smartphone brands have launched their 5G smartphones. And like how it happened with 4G smartphones, it is imperative to bid these 5G phones against each other to see which one fares well and which one’s worth our money. Following that tradition, today we have the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G against the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G smartphone.

Let’s do a comparative study of the two that would help make an informed choice between the two.

DISPLAY: The Oppo Reno 5 Pro and the Mi 10T, both have a metal-glass sandwich design where the former has a matte finish on the back flush with shiny gradient colour. The Mi 10T, on the other hand, uses AG glass on the back with a frosted matte texture. With the Reno 5 Pro, you get a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with AMOLED panel and 90Hz high refresh rate support. There’s a punch-hole cutout on the front for the selfie camera with the screen offering 800nits brightness in sunlight and peak brightness of 1100nits.

Xiaomi Mi 10T features a larger 6.67-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display that uses LCD panel with 144Hz high refresh rate. There’s a punch-hole cut out for the selfie camera here as well and the screen is topped with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. The screen offers 500nits typical brightness and 650nits peak brightness. Well undoubtedly, Mi 10T has a larger screen here. So, this is basically a personal choice if you prefer a larger or a comparatively smaller screen.

PROCESSOR- The Xiaomi Mi 10T is powered by the 2020 flagship Snapdragon 865 processor with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 650 GPU. This is paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB UFS 3.1 storage options to choose from. The octa-core CPU has a prime Kryo 585 core running at 2.84GHz along with three high-performance cores running at 2.42GHz and four power-efficient cores at 1.80GHz.

The Reno 5 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor with an octa-core CPU and Mali-G77 GPU. The CPU has four Cortex-A77 cores running at 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0GHz. This is paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage with no option to expand the storage further.

CAMERA- Mi 10T has a 64MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 123-degree field-of-view and a 5MP macro camera. The rear cameras can record in 8K UHD at 30FPS and 4K UHD at up to 60FPS. Both phones support gyroscope based EIS for video stability.

While on the other hand, The Oppo Reno 5 Pro has a 64MP primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 115-degree field-of-view, 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The rear cameras can record in 4K UHD at 30FPS and 1080P at up to 60FPS.

On the front, the Reno 5 Pro has a 32MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture while the Mi 10T has a 20MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The Reno 5 Pro has a 4,350mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging out-of-the-box. The Mi 10T has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging out-of-the-box.

The last and kind of one of the most important aspect, the price of the phones.

The Oppo Reno 5 Pro is priced at Rs 35,990 and has 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. As for the Mi 10T, it starts at Rs 35,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and Rs 37,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant.

It is clear that upon comparison, Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G is a much better and powerful option for a 5G phone over the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G.
