The news of a Dimensity powered smartphone in India has been circulating for months now and finally we have a date set with the company for the launch of the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G. Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G will be launched in India on 18 January 2021 at 12:30 pm. The announcement of the unveiling of the smartphone has been made by Oppo India on its official Twitter handle so there are no more hanging doubts about the launch of the phone.

We have known about the specifications and the features of this flagship phone for a while now and based on that there is no doubt the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G is going to be the star of the 5G segment after its launch. Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G has been quite a talked about phone for months now and looking at the specifications, it sure gives you the right reasons to do so. Oppo has done quite a good job with the integration of reliable and powerful features to the phone.

First and foremost, my major excitement with regard to this phone is the inclusion of the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset. MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ is set to offer 5G capabilities with specs like dual 5G SIM, carrier aggregation, faster and uninterrupted speeds, along with MediaTek’s 5G UltraSave power-saving technology that would improve battery life by leaps and bounds thereby making the user experience all the more better than ever. It is also an enhanced 5G-integrated chip with upgraded gaming, video playback, enhanced connectivity, and power-efficiency. As far as the gaming enhancements of the chipset is concerned, the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC integrated HyperEngine game technology provides a more fluid, responsive and reliable gaming experience with graphics to match, all on 120Hz gamer-ready displays. There is also advanced and adaptable camera support. The HDR-native ISP supports up to quad-camera sensors and up to 64MP sensors which not only is the proof of the phone flaunting some really impressive gaming capabilities but also it sets the bar high even in terms of its camera specifications for its counterparts.

In terms of the camera setup of the phone, it will come with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide angle f/2.2 lens, a 2-megapixel macro shooter with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel portrait shooter with an f/2.4 lens. At the front, you get a 32-megapixel sensor.

Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The phone is backed by a 4,350mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. The battery might sound less but with the 65W fast charging, even that issue is well taken care of by the brand.

I am excited for the launch of the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G and this flagship 5G phone is all set to shine in the 5G segment.
