Realme made a lot of right decisions when it comes to the features and the specifications of the Realme X7 5G smartphone. Along with that, the brand has also managed to strike the perfect balance between, the price and the specifications of the phone.

Realme has become the first brand to launch a Dimensity 800U chipset powered smartphone in India and it has also priced the phone really well therefore, offering flagship level of features and specs in the mid-range price segment.

But can we call the Realme X7 5G a gaming smartphone? Let’s find out. The capabilities of a smartphone when it comes to gaming depends on a number of parameters in terms of the features that are integrated into the phone. And in my opinion, Realme has done a good job there. Starting from the display, where Realme chose to go with a Super AMOLED one. A display is one of the major criteria for having a good gaming experience. And as mentioned above, the phone is powered by Dimensity 800U which comes with its own integrated gaming capabilities therefore, helping the X7 5G smartphone be all the more be a gaming efficient smartphone. Let’s take a look into the gaming properties of the Dimensity 800U chipset.

To begin with, it has an octa-core, dual-cluster design (2+6). There are 2 x high-performance Cortex-A76 cores running @2.4GHz and 6 x power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores running @2.0GHz.

MediaTek Dimensity 800U is clocked to a max of 2.4GHz and has a memory frequency of 2133MHz and can support 12GB RAM. It has a 3x Arm Mali-G57 GPU and shows a 20% increase in CPU performance compared to its predecessor. It has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.

MediaTek Dimensity 800U is also integrated with MediaTek’s HyperEngine 2.0 technology. This enables the chipset to performance the best of its capabilities in terms of uninterrupted gaming sessions, game load times, intelligently switch between multiple networks, while also consistently maintaining the high FPS alongside a long-lasting battery life.

The 5G-integrated chip featuring exclusive MediaTek 5G UltraSave technologies provides 2.3Gbps download speeds. The 5G-CA configuration enables higher average speeds and a seamless handover between two 5G connection areas across a coverage layer, where users receive over 30% greater throughput layer coverage compared to chips without CA.

MediaTek has certainly done a good job with its Dimensity series chipsets which also includes the 800U. And Realme on the other side, have made the right choice of integrating this chipset into the Realme X7 5G smartphone thereby further enhancing the overall capabilities and performance of the phone.
