The Highest Indian National Flag Hoisted in Manipur

The CM of Manipur N. Biren Singh announced that a 165-foot tall Indian National Flag, the highest in the Northeast area, would be established at the Indian National Army Complex at Moirang of Manipur.

Recently, Manipur’s CM N. Biren Singh on 14th April 2022 hoisted the Indian tricolour flag at the INA Martyr’s headquarters in Moirang, Bishnupur district to observe the 77th anniversary of the hoisting day of the (INA) Indian National Army.

It was on the day of April 14, 1944, that the flag was hoisted for the first time at the INA on the Indian soil at Moirang.

Further, Singh also led additional dignitaries in delivering a floral tribute to the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose which is installed inside the complex. The CM also recalled the invaluable givings and contributions of the late Subhas Chandra Bose in liberating the country India from British rule.

Singh further said that many Indian leaders played important roles while the freedom struggle but their givings is often forgotten by our younger generation.

He appealed that each citizen must have a sense of belonging and a true spirit of nationalism, without which no person could get success in any field.

Next, he said that INA headquarters at Moirang would be greatly preserved in memory of the leader, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the Indian flag would be installed to make it a heart of attraction for tourists.

The state had further come to an agreement with the owner and paperwork for the purchase of the land where the headquarters once stood, he said.

Moirang, which is about 45 km from the capital Imphal, was picked as the headquarters of the INA which was led by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose after they freed a part of Manipur from the Britishers and installed the provincial independent government.

In addition, Construction work for (INA) Indian National Army Museum War Memorial is also going on at Moirang. N Biren also visited the construction site of the INA War Memorial. By sharing a video while his visit to the war memorial site, he tweeted: “Inspected the ongoing construction of Indian National Army Museum (INA) War Memorial at Moirang and interacted with the people who are residing around the site of the War Memorial during my visit.”
